Publication Event

It's scary -- and time-consuming -- to submit creative work for publication. Teen writers face arduous submission guidelines, month-long wait times, submission fees, sub-1% acceptance rates, and more on their path to being published. But we believe that publishing -- and submitting -- should be empowering, not nerve-wracking.

That's why we've teamed up with five pre-vetted, youth-friendly literary magazines to offer our mentees a streamlined, super-simple first submission experience.

​

Mentees will attend a panel where our partner mags' Editors-in-Chief discuss how they select work for publication. Directly following the panel, each magazine partner will run a free expedited submissions event, where Mentees can submit their work out and receive a publication decision within 48 hours (typical literary magazine response times range from 3 - 6 months).
